Light demo · West Los Angeles

Torn out, hauled off, swept clean.

Light demolition

The tear-out part of your remodel, handled

Demo is the step that stalls every remodel: someone has to rip it out, someone has to haul it, and nobody wants a dumpster parked on the street for a week. We do both in one visit. Torn out, loaded as we go, gone the same day, and the floor gets swept.

Who books us

  • Homeowners clearing a room before the tiler, cabinet installer or flooring crew turns up
  • GCs and remodelers who'd rather keep their own crew on the skilled work
  • Landlords and property managers turning a unit over between tenants
  • Realtors and flippers who need a dated kitchen or bathroom stripped before listing

What we don't touch

  • Structural work: load-bearing walls, beams, foundations, roofs
  • Live electrical, plumbing or gas. Your licensed trade disconnects and caps them before we start
  • Permitted work, unless we're labour under your general contractor's licence and supervision
  • Suspected asbestos or lead. In pre-1980 homes, popcorn ceilings, old vinyl tile and some drywall mud need testing before anyone disturbs them

How a demo day goes

  1. Shut-offs firstWater, power and gas to the area are off and capped by your plumber or electrician.
  2. ProtectFloors, doorways and the path to the truck get covered before anything comes down.
  3. Tear out & loadDebris goes straight into the truck, so there's no pile in your yard.
  4. SortMetal gets recycled, and usable cabinets and fixtures go to donation where they'll take them.
  5. Sweep & receiptThe area is broom-clean and ready for the next trade. You get the dump receipt.

What we do

Demo first. Hauling and moving too.

We take the work the big outfits turn down for being "too small" — a bathroom that needs gutting before the tiler arrives on Monday, a rotten deck, half a garage, one couch.

How it works

Four steps, no surprises

Send photos

Three or four photos, the address and what floor it's on. That's genuinely all we need to price most jobs.

Get a flat price

A firm number back, usually within a couple of hours. It doesn't move unless the job itself changes.

We show up on time

You get a text with an ETA when we set off. Not a four-hour window, an actual time.

Gone, and swept

Loaded, hauled, sorted for donation and recycling. Floors protected, hallway swept, dump receipt in your hand.

Rates

Straight pricing

Two-hour minimum on hourly work. Dump and landfill fees are passed through at cost and we show you the receipt — we never bake them in to make a headline price look better.

Questions

The things people ask first

Do I need a dumpster for my demo?

No. The tear-out goes straight into our truck as we work and leaves with us the same day, so there's no dumpster rental and no street-placement permit to sort out. Bigger guts are quoted as multiple loads up front.

Who shuts off the water, power and gas?

Your licensed plumber or electrician, before we arrive. We don't disconnect or cap live lines. Once the area's dead and capped, we take out the cabinets, vanity, fixtures and tile around them.

My house is old. What about asbestos or lead?

In homes built before about 1980, popcorn ceilings, old vinyl floor tile and some drywall joint compound can contain asbestos, and old paint can contain lead. We don't disturb suspected material until it's been tested. If it comes back positive, that part needs a certified abatement company, and we can still do the rest of the tear-out and the haul-off.

How fast can you come out?

Same-day and next-day slots are open most weeks. Cleanouts and single-item pickups are the easiest to fit in at short notice; full moves and demo jobs usually want a day or two of lead time.

What counts as a "full load"?

The bed heaped and strapped, roughly 2.5 cubic yards — not filled level to the rails. If your job is bigger than that we'll quote it as multiple loads up front so there's no argument at the end.

Do you charge for stairs?

Ground floor and elevator buildings are standard rate. A second-floor walk-up adds about 10%, third floor and above about 18%. It's in the estimate above, so you'll see it before you book.

What happens to the stuff you take?

We sort it on site. Anything usable goes to donation and we'll bring you the receipt for your taxes. Metal and e-waste get recycled. Only what's genuinely left goes to the transfer station.

Can you take down a wall?

Only if it isn't load-bearing and has nothing live running through it. Non-structural tear-out is what we do: cabinets, counters, vanities, tile, carpet, drywall, baseboard, sheds, fences, decks and small concrete pads. We don't touch structural work, electrical, plumbing or anything needing a permit. On permitted jobs we work as labour under your general contractor's licence and supervision.

My building wants a certificate of insurance.

Common on the Westside — a lot of buildings won't release the elevator or loading dock without one. Mention it in your quote request and we'll sort the paperwork with your building manager before the job.

How do I pay?

Cash, Zelle, Venmo or card, on completion. Dump fees are added at cost with the receipt attached.
